Story: Hayato defeated the Sentinel robot and Petra as the robot exploded and Hayato slashed the pillar to destroy it and the energy disappeared. He then approached the fallen Petra

Hayato: It's over Petra. Your ambitions are over.
Petra: I can't believe it. All i wanted was to bring world peace. I was going to bear the burden of all those deaths on my shoulders...
Hayato: True peace can't be achieved when innocent lives are at risk.
Petra: What are you going to do now? Kill me?
Hayato: I won't. I won't disgrace Weiss' last actions as she gave her life so you can live. But you will live with the regret that you failed and will be forever labeled as a criminal.
Petra: *sighs*

So Hayato saved the world as the other threats were other subdued by the other members. Although he never really had a personal connection or story compared to everyone else, he was happy nonetheless to fight strong opponents and continuing to help the team out. One day, he received a letter from a old childhood friend to meet him in St. Petersburg. Hayato arrived to see a girl in white with a katana.

Hayato: It's been a long time Hibiki. I can sense something different about you.
Hibiki: The reason for that is because I have been training Hayato. When we were little, I was weak and relied on you to protect me. When I moved, I spent every waking moment training. I learned how to be aggressive in my fighting style from the barbarous warlords of Mexico. I studied ancient ancient art of Iaido from a revered guru in the Himalayas. Swam laps across the frigid Strait of Dover. Tempered my body and mind in the sweltering heat of the Sahara. And all of that preparation was for this very day.
Hayato: All of that just to prove you are no longer weak?
Hibiki: Yes, but that little desire evolved to wanting to be the strongest warrior alive. My dream is to find that pinnacle of strength to protect those dear to me and never experience that feeling of being a weakling ever again. But to do that, I must defeat you at your best. As the Swordmaster, I will put my title on the line!
Hayato: Hibiki, there is always going to be someone stronger than you in this world. I am not afraid to admit that there are plenty of people who can defeat me. But nonethless, if you think beating me will be your ticket to that strength you are seeking, I will be that gatekeeper and see if yo are worthy of climbing the mountain for my dream is to constantly improve myself both physically and mentally. Prepare yourself!

Hibiki: This version uses the CvS2 style. Her attacks are long ranged and powerful. Not much to say but she is well designed.
