The Resident Evil 4 Remake is a pretty good game, although it definitely didn't need to exist. In fact, this game is actually an alternate universe in the Resident Evil lore. Like the FF7 Remake, this alternate universe is created when Mike survives the helicopter crash off screen and is able to use nano-machine bioweapons from Terragrigia in Resident Evil Revelaitons to perform inner-dimensional time travel. With full knowledge of the events of the original RE4, both Sadler and Mike are trying to change the course of history to suit their own ulterior motives. In fact, this Remake is actually 50 hours long and only has the Village section of the game. You'll have to wait another decade to see the ending! Luis also gets killed in the Cabin sequence for absolutely no reason and comes back to life using the Las Plagas, however this Las Plagas is actually from the original game and it was manipulated by Mike's nano-machines to alter the timeline. You also fight Sadler on the bridge in front the castle because we had to fight him at the end of the game, even though that doesn't happen at that part of the game at all. The final cutscene shows Mike appearing from his ghost helicopter, giving hints for the future alternate universe that will ultimately leave everyone unsatisfied for the next decade after begging for this Remake for 15 plus years already. Like Neo from the Matrix dodging a trainwreck in slow motion for the next decade, this journey is doomed right from the start. The Merchant was alright too.
