Revolutionizing Industrial Automation with Light Sensor Classification using Node-RED and Factory IO
In this video, we present an Industry 4.0 project that uses a light sensor to classify objects passing through a sensing field by their sizes. The project is implemented using Node.js, Node-RED, JSON, and Modbus, and is visualized with Factory IO.
We start by introducing the existing systems used for object classification and their limitations, and then explain the advantages of our proposed system. We discuss the hardware and software components used in our project and how they are integrated to achieve accurate size classification.
We then demonstrate the step-by-step process of setting up the system, including the installation of the software, calibration of the light sensor, and testing of the system using different-sized objects. We also provide a detailed explanation of the code used in the project and show how the results are visualized in the user interface.
Finally, we discuss the results of our testing and evaluate the feasibility of our system in terms of cost, technical aspects, and social impact. We also suggest some possible enhancements for future work.
