ROG Ally - Unboxing & Quick First Impressions
The @asusrog Ally is the newest handheld on the market that has a lot of buzz around it right now. This video ran a bit longer than I was hoping it would but there is a lot to cover here. I need to spend more time testing this out and I'm hoping with more software updates coming in the next couple of week the device will improve over time like the Steam Deck did. If you were expecting to run triple A titles at the 120 hz this display has then this is going to let you down as it will really only run less demanding games like retro style games or emulators at that higher refresh rate. Time will tell if Asus has a home run on their hands when it comes to this device but right now it feels a little under baked with updates needed to really make it shine. The 699 price tag here is compelling though when the only other option is the Steam deck at that price point since other handhelds like the Onexplayer, Ayaneo, or AOK ZOE all start at 1000 dollars or more.
