Romancing SaGa 2: Revenge of the Seven [Switch 2024] [Part 1] [No Commentary]
0The game released today, 10/24 or 24/10 depending on how you do your dates, and having played the original SaGa games and even the mobile gacha game that popped up years back, it's nice to see them get remastered or in this case, remade for the modern era.
Always love to see permadeath be an actual good game mechanic similar to the DS Fire Emblem games. Risk and reward, and death is not the end as if your entire party would to die, you would have to appoint a new leader that gets some inherits via stats and skills and gather a new gang of warriors to take on the threat. As such, this will be permadeath with no reloading of saves. You also have choices to make that could change the fate of characters or relations.
Aside from the usual jank these types of RPG's have being played on a docked Switch, it runs fine. If you have to play this game at 60 FPS, then you can play the PC version of the game then.
Some slight issues to note:
--Slight stuttering here and there. That's the Switch itself and not the capture card.
--Texture pop in/loading. Mainly due to the Switch of course.
--Some very slight slowdown when entering battles and on some actions in said battles. Otherwise, the FPS has remained stable.
Playing on the Nintendo Switch, although it's on PC and other consoles as well. There's a demo for it available as well that carries over to the main game if purchased.
