29The Roosevelt House was an old apartment complex built as a result of Atlanta's push in public housing projects, starting in the 1930s. It was constructed in 1973. It was demolished (imploded) on February 27, 2011, at 7:30 AM EST. Hundreds were in attendance at a public viewing nearby, and many more along sidewalks and in North Avenue Apartments across the street.
