RPG Quest is my attempt to beat every English RPGs released on consoles.

Game #13 is Hydlide on NES, an Action RPG.

Prepare to hear the 'best' music in any RPG game (it has to be the best since they put it on a 15 second timer and play it for the ENTIRE game, right)?

If you ignore the music, the rest of the game is passable, combining diminishing return experience (weak enemies give less and eventually no experience after you level up) with strategic combat. The controls aren't spectacular sometimes, and some of the items are so well hidden that finding them would require some damn good luck without some hints (which were not provided either ingame or by the manual).

Overall though, it wasn't THAT bad.
