RPGMaker PS1 Ninjato's Quest Preview
2I had this game for some years and after some games that was fully made but not right and many failures I made this game years ago and it follows a plot I used when I 1st made my website and was making Ninjato cartoons,
I did however at one point changed the title picture and changed the system data to say JatoStyle but the ingame spirtes of Luna and her attacking animations and game over deaths are untouched and all text and data is the same.
Since I am going to make a full run of this game I am going to kind of use the TEST PLAY mode and kind of skim through the story mostly to show you what I did and I am going to bypass some doors since I made some REALLY annoying Dungeons.
This game is an action RPG and although the game cant use your HP outside to kill if you lose it all I had to find a clever way to do this...
Badguys walk around slowly but there are invislbe events that if you step on them they can switch the monsters into attack mode monsters.
When they are in attack mode they chase you, In the past I made some mobs turn red when ready to get you and some games I made red mobs and blue mobs and red ones will always hurt you and you aim for the blue ones...
When you get hit you get an item in your bag a heart symbol and if you get hit with one in your bag you get a 2 heart card and and then a 3 heart card...Get hit with all 3 in your bag I set you to par. status and enter a battle with a monster that looks like a NeoCrystal....The game ends and say gameover and this is why I make messages say [TURN BATTLE MESSAGE ON NO DISPLAY]
For monsters HP I use the in game money system and when you hit the mob or boss you get a coin and until you have enough coins I call "HIT's" you keep attacking and then the boss or mob dies...The only flaw with this when there are tons of mobs around is you can attack one mob over and over and walk and hit another one and kill it but your count goes down but it looks weird.
This game will show you a great example of how I can use the system to the point I want it to work
