This is one of the oldest puzzle game series to ever come out. It was originally called "Chain Shot" for the Fujitsu FM-7 in 1985, the same year Tetris came out in the USSR. The name "SameGame" adopted once it was ported to the Unix, which that and the original FM-7 versions are on my list.
The gameplay is simple, it's a match-2 tile game where you click around the screen for points. The more pieces you clear, the high the score. When a column is cleared, the adjacent columns from the right move to the left. It was even ported to the Super Famicom, TiVo and Windows 3.1. It received clone games like Swell Foop for Linux, Sega Swirl for the Sega Dreamcast.
