WhimWidget wanted me to try playing this SANICS level twice in a row to see a little Easter egg. On my first attempt to record this, I played super badly and died a bunch, but I had asked ahead of time if dying was okay, and WhimWidget told me yes, so I just kept pressing forward until the end. However, that recording turned out to have bad audio/video desync, which is a shame because the test recording I just did with a couple levels of The Princess Cliche had came out fine.

So, it seemed I was in a pickle regarding this, but upon doing further testing, it turns out it's not WhimWidget's level, but instead the Advent calender screen itself that HyperCam 2 really didn't like for some reason. Seems strange, because there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of fancy graphical stuff going on with the calender screen, especially compared to some of the special effects during WhimWidget's level, but that's how it is.

And thus, I tried a full recording again, starting from the loading screen, and making sure the calender screen wasn't present in the recording at all, and this one came out just fine! Plus, I cleared the entire level deathless in this run as well, and earned an achievement that gave me a good laugh when I saw its name! Looking at the achievement description later, it's for capturing all of Alice's spell cards (I assume that means beating them without getting hit).

I guess the achievement includes spell cards I captured on previous attempts, because it triggered before I reached the end of the battle here. Also, the first time I beat this, I got the achievement "Better Gamer than Rixi" (for defeating the second boss battle without any cheats). Also, when I reentered the level immediately afterwards, I get taken straight to the final spell card, which is slightly harder (most notable with additional white stars appearing during the second phase of the spell), and clearing that grants the achievement "Is it Me, Or is This a Little Harder?".

Unfortunately, those two achievements didn't show up in this recording because I already got them previously. However, for those that are interested and don't mind the audio/video desync, I've uploaded that first attempt where I got those two achievements as an unlisted video here:

Oh, and as for what I thought of the level... It. Is. Fantastic. I love it. I'd say I had the most difficulty with the Sheath and Telefragging spell cards, which occur consecutively, making it more difficult to clear this without dying. However, I found the final spell card to be surprisingly easier to me (still challenging, but not nearly as hard as Sheath and Telefragging), even when I replayed the level and fought the slightly harder version.

BTW, at the start of the level, I stomped on a doll repeatedly to farm some food (lives), since I started with 0. However, is it really Game Over if you die with 0 food? I have no idea. Even on my first attempt where I died a lot, I won before I ran out of food.
