It's a top down isometric twin stick shooter. It plays like a rogue-like where you see how far you can get per run. There are permanent upgrades you can play to unlock as well as temporary upgrades that only last within the run. Combat is okay, but throwing grenades can be finicky. There are different characters you can play as and also unlock more. The game might be balanced more for co-op. You can play singleplayer but it is very difficult. You will probably want to rebind some controls, especially the dodge roll on gamepad.
