Sega Star Wars Arcade
76Presenting, a quick brief look of my latest addition - a fully operational Star Wars Arcade machine from Sega - this is considered a rare game as none where offically released outside of Japan - only a handful got imported into Europe and the USA. There was no official word why it wasn't released - test unit did go to both Sega USA and UK, and it was deemed to be a big hit. One rumour was that they run out of Model 1 boards - this also is true for the Net Merc game which only got a run of about 50 units, the other thing I was told from Japan is that Sega had a license issue with LucasArts and that the machines had to be destroyed in Japan, either way there must be less than a handful of fully working machines out there.
The game is a lot superior to the on the rails Star Wars Trilogy, it has the usual nice model 1 visuals and audio we have come to expect.
I should really find my tripod and do a proper gameplay video, but for now I am playing one handed and filming with the other (so I can not use the throttle), but I had a lot of people asking for a quick YouTube video so here it is.. Enjoy!
