And now it comes to this. This truly feels like the endgame now. With all loose ends tied up, we now finish things up and cover the Severance Ending. This is the ending you will pretty much get under normal circumstances.
Here we meet with the young Lord only to find that he's running out of time. Genichiro has survived and he wields a Mortal Blade of his own. Genichiro is a tough opponent and he'll start with the Mortal Blade attack. Afterwards, focus on damaging his posture by attacking and deflecting. If you pull it off well enough, you can take him down.
Then the true final boss happens. Ishin shows up out of Genichiro and with Mortal Blade in hand takes you on. This is the final battle. Ishin the Sword Saint has three deathblows and you need to take down all 3. It's also a multi phase fight.
Phase 1 is just him with his blow and you will need to deflect whatever he throws to build posture. Don't forget that he will use strong attacks to deal damage to you and your posture. Deflect when needed and don't be afraid to run if things get ugly.
Once you take out one of his orbs, the next phase begins. He'll summon a spear that he'll use to enhance his attacks and range. You REALLY need to keep your distance if you are to deal posture damage to him. Don't be afraid to deflect and make sure to use Mikkuri Counters because they help greatly. Same strategy applies. Don't be afraid to keep your distance so you can heal.
After the second orb goes, comes Phase 3. Here, lightning strikes the field and it means he will zap you good. When that happens, either get out of the way or go airborne to send the attack right back at him for Shock and posture damage. This helps. He still has the same attacks so make sure you deflect and Mikkuri like your life depends on it.
With all three orbs gone, you can now finish him off and with it, Immortality Severed.
Using the Divine Dragon's Tears, the link to immortality is severed and with it, the young Lord can finally be at peace. At last. And with that, we unlock the second ending: Immortal Severance.
