I wanted to eat this fish so I asked him not to release it.

Edibility Update:
The flesh tasted oily. Like if it had crude oil or something. Something like how the taste of Coelacanth was described in books. In comparison, the Mahogany Snappers and Roughneck Grunts caught in the same area tasted great, like normal fish. The fish had many, many dangerous bones. Felt like the struggle of eating crab.
This is really a beautiful, aquarium species. So it'll stay that way. This is a catch and release from now on.
