Well this is the next Serious Sam chronologically. It also uses the same engine as Serious Sam 4 so I have experience dealing with it and it's issues! I made the terrible mistake of believing that and played this game on hard. Turns out the developers being massive trolls really sucks on hard. Between that and some very unintuitive and questionable design choices I did not enjoy my time with this game.

There are sections that I thought were great, but they were few and far between. At least when compared to sections where the experience was almost good but marred by gameplay, flow, and sometimes even graphical design choices.

While this game definitely provided a better overall experience than the stuttery mess that was Serious Sam 4; I still cannot recommend this game.

Lucky for me Serious Sam The First Encounter (which is considered by many to be the best Serious Sam) is the next game chronologically.
