Windows XP = 20 to 130 FPS
Windows Vista = 90 to 110
Vista is hands down, consistantly better OS for this game ONLY - I am a Vista Hater, so don't think that I am trying to sell you on Vista. I cannot believe that there was never a public announcement that WindowsXP was not fully supported on this game. It is not recommened to use XP, but it is the "bottom" requirement.
What does SFIV AE use that kills memory on XP?
Why does SFIV AE use that SFIV doesn't?
SFIV runs perfect with XP, SFIV AE runs like a cheetah for a minute, then creeps like a sloth.
Something inside the code is not freeing up memory, or running a process in an infinite loop.
Maybe a Cartesian product that is a result of a query in the code?
Whatever it might be, with Vista installed, the Steam version is running good - YEAH!!!!!!
