In this new Shadow Man: Remastered series I am checking out the new Horror mode. This is currently in Beta on the PC but will soon be available for Xbox, Playstation and Switch.

Here are the patch notes (Spoilers may be ahead!)

BETA V1.5 - 2022-06-21
=================
New difficulty, "The Horror", can be selected when starting a new adventure. This difficulty contains many changes to make the adventure more challenging.
These are some of the changes (other changes not mentioned to avoid spoilers):
More enemies and deadly obstacles have been added in all levels.
Shadow man receives twice the damage.
Shadow man resurrects with less health until night has fallen.
The Shadow gun deals less damage and no longer leaves Lifeforce drops after killing enemies. (Start using your Voodoo weapons!)
You are limited to saving your game only once per level. You can save again when entering a level, activating a Teddy Bear warp point for the first time, or your shadow level increases.
Almost all enemies now have at least one extra attack or action.
Enemies no longer recoil, and are stronger, faster, better.

V1.5 Beta - 2022-07-08
======================
- Tete de Mort fires slightly slower, projectiles move slower, does slightly less damage, uses slightly more voodoo, and has significantly more homing capability.
- Seraph has a reappearing animation now, so she won't be able to attack right away until the animation is done. Seraphs horizontal lightning is easier to dodge. She has a higher chance to reappear at a distance. Her melee attacks are no longer faster on The Horror difficulty. The very edge of her charge blast that fades away won't damage you anymore. Lowered melee damage. Lowered Health of normal Seraphs.
- A version of the original map for the game was redone by a fan, Benjamin Alexander, for the remaster and has been included in the last page of The Prophecy.
- Coffin gates now use all 4 of Shadow Man's moan sounds based on the shadow level of the gate. Shadow Man also struggles to open higher level gates (somewhat similar to the N64, PS1, and Dreamcast versions).
- Changed the menu mouse cursor texture filter to Linear.
- On The Horror difficulty there's a save indication when you regain the ability to save now. You can also save again after picking up quest items or acquiring a gad.
- You no longer respawn with less than 5 bars of health when you die.
- If you die after night has fallen you will no longer gameover.
- Copter explodes into less debris.
- The Temple of Blood Push Statues move faster. In the room where you dangle from a rope and have to get past several vertical spin blades above lava, the extra blades on The Horror difficulty have been removed but the other ones are slightly faster.
- There's only 1 Seraph in the Playrooms Retractor room now, since there's so little space in there.
- Fixed credits looping forever when Disco or Area-51 music was on.
- Trueform projectile attacks will now collide with objects such as doors. The Trueforms beam attack animation is slightly faster.
- Deadwing and Duppy are slightly slower on The Horror difficulty from the last beta. Their vomit no longer homes in on Shadow Man, they're just faster now.
- Fixed a bug where Shadow Man's hand animation would not reset back to normal after unequipping certain weapons.
- Can no longer trigger Victor Batrachian's cutscene by damaging him.
- Fixed audio issues.
- For several levels: Fixed Geometery in certain places. Removed a few enemies/traps on the Horror difficulty.
