Shining Force 40 Levels Study Conclusion (1st Run)
Ok. So I ran through SF1 10 times and got everyone 20 levels unpromoted and 20 levels promoted (40 levels for pre-promoted characters). I learned a lot from this long and drawn out study and saw a mild pattern that is worth sharing. In this video I rate the characters primarily based on STATS and SPELLS as well as modulate their rank based on in-game availability and special features exclusive to the characters. I even fooled around and took them to level 99 at one point (using a game genie) to see what the spread was and strangely enough, it was roughly the same. I also show my recommended Optimal/Casual party as well as a low level run party. Hopefully this gives you all some insight into Shining Force and the character growths that occurred.
Let me know what you guys think the worst party is in the game (with 2 healers and 2 magic users) and perhaps I will do a Let's Play with them and show you that you can get through the game with almost any party.
I FORGOT TO MENTION THE LEVELING PLACES! I'd say level to 15 at the Balbazak fight in Uranbatol and then promote for a casual experience. For a level 20 run, grind to 20 unpromoted in Dragonia and then promote. Then grind to level 15 promoted in the Chaos battle, and then to 20 promoted in either the first fight of the Final Chapter or in the Cyclops battle after Ramladu.
