Should Lakers Trade Anthony Davis? Lebron Subtweet, Zion & Oden Comparison, Stephen A Smith EXPOSED!
Anthony Davis is expected to be out for at least the next four weeks with a mid-foot sprain, the Lakers announced on Thursday. Davis suffered the injury during the second quarter of the Los Angeles Lakers' 106-101 victory against the Utah Jazz on Wednesday night, and it was initially reported to be an ankle sprain that would sideline the big man for approximately two weeks.
The Lakers are the ninth seed in the Western Conference with a 27-31 record despite having three superstars in LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook. While there are many great teams in Los Angeles, the Lakers are easily the biggest brand. When they aren’t playing great, it’s a big deal. During the recent NBA trade deadline, the team was linked to a number of possible trades to try and salvage the season.
General manager David Griffin broke the news of Williamson's injury on preseason media day while telling reporters that his "timeline should get him back on the court in time for the regular season." That was on Sept. 27. Williamson suffered a fracture of the fifth metatarsal on his right foot over the summer and needed surgery to repair it.
Since then, Williamson has faced multiple setbacks and left New Orleans to focus on rehabbing his foot. ESPN reported in January that Williamson was rehabbing in Portland, Oregon, while the team noted that he was continuing to rehab "under the supervision of the Pelicans medical staff."
Ever since his cohost Max Kellerman was removed from ESPN's sports debate show First Take, the always outspoken Stephen A. Smith has not been shy about his desire for the pair to part ways. He went into great detail on the topic with Jimmy Traina on the SI Media Podcast in September, saying that the two did not work well as a team anymore.
