Silverain Reviews: Ruinarch & Gameplay: An Example Of Wonderful Concept With Poor Implementation.
Developed by Maccima Games and published by Squeaky Wheel Ruinarch describes itself as a simulation sandbox game where you create obstacles and cause conflicts in procedurally generated fantasy worlds, inspired by story generator games like Rimworld and Dwarf Fortress.
However in practice it's a borderline clicker game due to tedious waiting and repetitive unsatisfying game play, the game remains unfinished with most mechanics not properly developed or lackluster in effect.
The developers either through lack of funding, skill or motivation have pushed it from early access into its full version far too early and have since after a simple patch have left it abandoned, charging too much for a pretty shallow experience.
As stated by other reviewers its a rare case to see a game be made worse over time, with its early access version been the far more enjoyable experience.
Maps are smaller and with fewer villages, there's no unique scenarios, and the three archetypes play the same because of the added retaliation mechanic and the chaos energy achievement list.
