139Hey guys, it's time for another Mario Party playthrough, so let's take a look at Mario Party: The Top 100!
This game was created in 2017 and it's main draw was the fact that "100 classic minigames are coming back!" And yes, that is a pretty cool aspect of this game....but that's kind of where not only the novelty, but also where the entire game comes to an end....this game is literally just about the minigames. There are a few (literally only a handful) of modes that use these minigames, and really only one board game mode, and it's pretty much just taken from Star Rush (not to mention, it's only one board). So....yeah, not going to sugarcoat things, but this is a pretty disappointing title.
However, despite those shortcomings, we are still going to take a look at this game and as a Mario Party enthusiast, I am going to do my best to analyze the games that were chosen as the Top 100 and see how they feel with a modern and handheld spin to them. Were some of the greatest minigames chosen? Or did they get us some of the worst? What classic games were excluded? Let's find out!
The first part of this playthrough will focus on Mini-Game Island. Literally an incredibly basic recreation of the very first Mini-Game Island in Mario Party 1, where every level is one of the Top 100 minigames. This video will focus on World 1!
