General Quan here. It is time for me to brief you on my current mission!

Seeing as how I now only have one achievement left in the game Sniper Elite V2 Remastered edition, I’ll be tackling that head on!


My last achievement in this game is A Seasoned Sniper. Which is to play the game for a cumulative 40 hour of actual play time. Meaning sitting in the menu doesn’t count..

I have run through and beaten this game on Cadet difficulty, then beat it again on Sniper Elite difficulty.
I also did the multiplayer achievements, farming those with a friend since the multiplayer in this game is as dead as Hitler himself. I also went through the 4 DLC missions, and did all the coop achievements with the same friend. Shout out to SkillyWilly for working with me on those! After all that, I still needed the 40 hour achievement.

So for the fun of it, I went through the entire game again, and the 4 DLC missions again, but playing with a pistol only. Or at least as much as possible with pistol only. Then even after that, I still hadn’t gotten to 40 hours done.
I then decided it would be fun to make a video series of a Pistol only Run in V2 Remastered. So that’s what I’m doing here today!
Now I had started recording for this video series before a few months ago. I had done 7 of the missions. However due to some technical problem my computer began having around that time, specifically with my microphone not recording, I had to stop before I even published one episode.
I have that problem fixed now, however. So rather than pick up where I left off, I decided to just start over again.

As of right now, before starting the Pistol Only campaign, I am sitting at a little over 37 and a half hours if in game play time according to my career stats. So I will more than likely get that last achievement in the process of recording this video series.

So what I’m going to do for this, is to run through all 10 of the game’s main missions, including the Prologue , as well as all 4 of the DLC missions using only my pistol when possible.

Now, there are a few points in the game where I can not progress unless I snipe an enemy here or there. For example, the very first part of the Prologue, I am locked into my sniper scope and can’t leave it till I shoot the Major General in the court yard. And even if I could pull out my pistol for that, he is too far away for me to even hope to hit with my pistol let alone kill him before I run out of ammo. There are other similar points in the game where I have to snipe an enemy on a far roof top in order to progress to the next part. For those parts only, I will have to use my rifle. Other than that, I will be using my pistol only for every kill I can.
This means no stealth kills, and no explosive kills either. With the exception of some tanks can’t be destroyed unless I place a stick of dynomite next to them an shoot the bomb. Technically I’m still using my pistol to destroy the tank but shooting a bomb by the tank with the pistol to do this.

I will also be doing this on the Cadet difficulty level, as that’s the only way to have enough pistol ammo to even have a hope of doing this. On Marksman and especially on Sniper Elite difficulty, only only even spawn with a single magazine of ammo in your pistol. And the there is just no way to even get close enough to some of the enemies to use the pistol on them without dying in those difficulties. So this will be on Cadet. And even then it is a bit difficult to do with limited ammo, and the bloom of the pistol shots.


Now on with the mission! The Prologue, all 10 campaign missions and all 4 DLC missions beaten with pistol only.
