At last, she finally arrived in Sonic Forces: Speed Battle after her Common card event for 1 week in Sonic Dash ended as the latest playable Challenger runner.

Surge's playstyle is similar to Tangle The Lemur, where her items can gain her more powerful speed boost than Tangle's "Tail Strike" & "Tail Spring", except she will suffer the cooldown everytime she used her Power Surge & can't use her items unless she can score a hit by attack any opponent with her Power Surge to re-charge her items instantly, although it's not easy to do that since you need to rely on timing.

Overall, she's a great Challenger runner when it comes to players that like to play with aggressive-boosting tactics, including those who love to play as Surge The Tenrec.

Surge The Tenrec can be unlocked by collecting her 500 Challenger cards from completing her Challenger event missions, and finish in 1st or 2nd place to obtain her Challenger chests while racing with AI-controlled Surge.

Surge The Tenrec - Challenger Rarity

1. Statistics

Top Speed: 10
- The highest speed that Surge can reach.

Acceleration: 9
- The shortest time to reach Surge's max speed, as well as recovering from opponent's items that she took damage.

Strength: 5
- The highest strength will impact Surge's speed loss less when she took damage from opponent's items.

Starting Rings: 20 Rings
- Can be upgraded to max 55 rings.

2. Items

1) Power Surge (Attack Item)
- When Surge using her Power Surge, she gains her speed boost & able to damage any opponent when she near & removes one of their items. After she used, she suffers her temporary cooldown & not able to use her items, but Surge can get instant re-charge by hitting any opponent with her Power Surge.
- When Surge picks the item box, it has small chance to obtain 2× Power Surges.

Level Upgrades: Increase the damage of Surge's Power Surge.

2) Volt Bolt (Boost Item)
- Surge grants her speed boost & able to damage opponents if she close any of them while she's boosting, effectively removes one of their items.
- Doesn't suffer the cooldown when using her Volt Bolt, but doesn't re-charge her items.

Level Upgrades: Increase the duration of Surge's Volt Bolt.
