If you are having any visual issues playing or recording using ScummVM.
Please try the following adjustments below.

Select your game in the list to the left.
Click "Game Options" on the right.
Under the "Graphics Mode" setting.
Change it from "OpenGL" to "SDL Surface".
"SDL Surface" is "DirectX" mode.

Don't make this the "Global" ScummVM setting.
As it will distort the UI of ScummVM.
Only do this per the game you are having issues with.

I believe that "OpenGL" is what ScummVM is designed around.
While "DirectX" is there as an alternative option.
