The game design of Speed Limit is built on the following pillars:
SPEED
Speed Limit is, unsurprisingly, about speed. Not only does the literal speed of the vehicles increase as you progress, but the level design encourages you to move through the stages quickly, with sluggishness being punished as your enemies catch up with you, and speediness rewarded with spectacle. Moving fast will let you lure pursuing cars into obstacles during the highway sequences and get the drop on enemies waiting in ambush aboard train cars.
VARIETY & SURPRISE
Every two stages the gameplay completely changes; so just as you are getting comfortable running and gunning on train tops, you will be swept into a high–speed chase down a busy motorway, or into the cockpit of an attack helicopter. There is always something new just around
the bend.
