I go west of STC Malachite, up the hill to the VPC Mirror location, where at the main gate, I saw a couple of Mercs inside the compound. I detoured from that gate, going along the southern wall and up the hill that was higher than the compound. At the spot overlooking the main building, I jumped down on top of the second-floor roof, where I had safety from mutant attacks. I looked east back to the main gate but did not see the Mercs.
I looked out on the field to the north. I don't know what all the equipment at VPC Mirror was supposed to do, but for some reason it seemed to attract the Zone's Chimeras. Eventually the Chimera noticed me and ran to the ground below me, trying to get at me to attack. You can't fight a Chimera face-to-face on the ground, so being on the roof I was able to blast it with my shotgun, every time it ran up the steps and around the grounds. It took a lot of shotgun shells to kill it. It took 45 rounds to do it.
I got down to skin the Chimera and then I got right back on the roof using the ladder. After that I looked to the east and shot at a Snork I saw. This is all it took for the Snork to come after me. There were three Snorks total that came after me, that I killed the same way as the Chimera. I got down, skinned the Snorks and then headed back to the main gate, where I found the two dead Mercs, victims to the Snorks. I returned to STC Malachite for the night. Later I went back out and it was raining, to the Spark campfire, where there was a Flesh attack with one Spark killed.
