(Read Full Description For My Thoughts on Starfleet Academy)
Just a video of me exploring the new Starfleet Academy social zone and it's environs. I have to say, it's quite impressive, and the Holosuite geometry and art assets in the main building may be the precursor to the functional Holodecks the Cryptic devs have been working on for player ship interiors.

There is an accolade here that requires you to inspect all of the various dedication plaques scattered around the campus. This also nets you the title "Boothby's Favorite".

Due to the sheer amount of NPCs and PCs running around, the game chugs somewhat due to the hub lag, but it's nowhere near as laggy as Earth Spacedock.

Also on display are the 2409 Cadet uniforms, which look significantly more "Starfleet" than most of the STO uniforms, I have to say. To the point that even commisioned officers are wearing them.

The Cadet uniforms will soon be available from the C-Store...which is unusual considering that soon everyone will have to wear it at least once when they finish the new Federation tutorials at Starfleet Academy.

There are various buildings dotting the campus that might one day soon be instance doors to the various tutorials, with each of the three other buildings representing a specific career path. In addition, there are about a dozen doors in the main building that can be used for foundry missions.

Several named NPCs are scattered throughout the area, which might also likewise be used as Foundry contacts. They may also play a role in future tutorials.

The grapevine has said that there may be future missions, not tutorials, that are centered around Starfleet Academy. I can only hope these rumors are true, as having this place accessible creates numerous possibilities for storylines.

Speaking of story, there are already roleplayers making SFA their home. As always, it's rather interesting to listen in on their conversations and how they interact with new areas and scenery in creative ways.

Speaking of interacting, nearly if not ALL of the chairs or benches in this area are usable.

The developers responsible for this area, have a lot to be proud of here. There's a lot of potential with this new zone, and I'm fascinated with where they might take it. It's also awesome to just run around Starfleet Academy, as one player described while I was recording this, "A Trekkie's Dream Come True".

If that doesn't earn this place a seal of approval, I don't know what does.
