The current Any% world record for StarTropics. This speedrun was performed on a Nintendo Entertainment System with an official StarTropics cartridge on November 17th, 2020. Run time officially starts when the player first gains control of Mike in Chapter 1, and ends on the first frame when Zoda-X's death animation begins in Chapter 8. Late end splits are pretty frequent as a result of this, so we often have to go back and double check our total run time.

StarTropics Any% is a speedrun based on high execution and lacks any major glitches. There are significant points where RNG can impact your run, particularly the bosses. This run had solid execution throughout, as well as exceptional RNG-based enemy and boss behaviour, with the only real standout exception being 2 hands on the first form of Zoda in Chapter 8, even with the use of the recently-found Hand Manipulation. These hands lost me about 8 seconds, and I can pick up small amounts of time throughout the run...but it will be difficult to beat this time nonetheless!

I will be working on Zoda's Revenge: StarTropics II in 2021, and whatever else I feel like/have time for!
