Steam Deck: Replace 256GB with 1TB Sabrent Rocket Including Old Data Recovery and Benchmarks
I've had a lot of requests to show a Steam Deck drive replacement video including the salvage of data that existed on the original drive. There is also a lot of interest in the new Sabrent Rocket replacement drives so we'll run some benchmarks compared to the OG 256GB SSD.
We're going to open the Deck and remove the 256GB drive - replacing it with the 1TB drive. We'll apply the SteamOS image to the new drive (we will not cover making the boot flash drive).
Then, we'll put the old drive in a USB external enclosure - connecting it to the Deck for data recovery. Finally, we'll do diskmarks comparing it to the 256GB drive tests.
