A year ago, Steffi released her fourth solo album and the first project released through Candy Mountain: The Red Hunter.
Dedicated to Steffi’s late mother, the album tells a story of family ties, female spirit, and the dynamics of change. Its tracks are drawn from drafts written on the move over the past few years and brought together during immersive sessions at the Candy Mountain studio. They reflect a time of personal flux transformed into something new, resolute and affirmatory.

“I have asked 9 totally different artists, personal heroes and people close to my heart, to remix my album! As a DJ I have a wide musical horizon when it comes to my track selection. Also as a producer I like to not attach myself to one genre, explore my options and express myself fully. I love how every artist interpreted my songs and how these very different versions represent my musical bandwidth.”
From ambient, IDM, broken beat to electro, techno, and drum & bass, there is a remix for everyone.
Convextion aka E.R.P delivers a 10 minute ultra deep, beautiful, techno/electro journey. Steffi’s co-69 headstorms host Violet, takes listeners on a drum and bass journey. DJ AGITATED, the new alias of a well established producer, provides a swinging peaktime techno banger. UK duo Tracing Xircles throw us in a deep trippy bath with their mixture of IDM and lush broken beats. Berghain colleague Barker plays with rhythmic complexity. Klakson regular 214 gives “Tragedy Turns To Comedy” a funky electro treatment whilst Jacktone founder Doc Sleep takes a poppy route. Italian talent Rosati drops a high energy chord techno monster. Modular synth wizard JakoJako closes the remix album with a trancey offering.
Just like the original release, the artwork is designed by Michiel de Vreede, depicting a sculpture by Rein Vollenga edited in post-production into a new and uncategorisable form.
