Stepping Beyond The Veil Poem(A Personal yet healing & releasing piece)
(Reading Starts at 0:16; still tinkering a wee bit with the new setup for OBS & Youtube Studios) I am definitely glad I wrote this poem(brought healing & release indeed); here is the text version of the poem below:
A blood clan borne into centuries ago,
Family members who carried intolerant harts,
Refusing to see beyond the four walls of their chapels,
Refusing to see the good within our harts that truly mattered
However,
There were brethren,
Friends who stood beside me,
Accepting one another whether our hair was dark, brown, blonde, or red,
For we accepted one another for the good we saw in one another's harts
Then there was my love,
Despite those who called her a witch,
Even my own blood family,
Calling me a heretic
However,
If I had to do it again,
Remembering the day I was executed by my own clan at the chapel with tears streaming from my sister's eyes,
I would have still protected her regardless, for I loved her & still do
After all,
Even when things unraveled between us many centuries later,
As she held the broken wedding ring with tears streaming from her eyes,
I shook my head as I wiped her tears & kissed her on the forehead
Reminding her what mattered wasn't in the ring,
But the love, friendship, & healing moments she shared with me,
Releasing us both as I learned to love freely, including myself
Releasing what no longer served as I was able to free myself from what no longer served anymore,
Rekindling my Celtic hart once more
