Sorry I've been MIA for a while, but I'm back with another awesome video game vinyl unboxing!
This time it is the amazing Streets of Rage & Streets of Rage II Vinyl Soundtracks from Data Discs!
DATA DISCS release video game soundtracks on vinyl, and are based in London, England.
They carefully remaster video game soundtracks and present them as officially licensed, high quality packages. Their intention is to promote the work of video game composers which is all too often overlooked, to showcase the creativity and ingenuity of the people behind the music.

Streets of Rage - Data Discs 001

The original soundtrack to the classic SEGA game, fully remastered in close collaboration with legendary composer, Yuzo Koshiro.
Pressed on 180g translucent red vinyl and packaged in artwork sourced from the SEGA archives. All copies include a traditional OBI strip and 2 x lithographic prints featuring cover illustrations from the Japanese and US/EU editions of the game.
Audio sourced from the original NEC PC-88 files, recorded and supplied by Yuzo Koshiro, in combination with a 32bit/96kHz capture from a Mega Drive console.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential game soundtracks of all time, STREETS OF RAGE 2 remains a towering achievement of the 16bit era. Data Discs is extremely proud to be releasing this masterpiece of FM synthesis, composed by Yuzo Koshiro and Motohiro Kawashima in 1992 and sounding more relevant today than ever.
The audio has been carefully remastered using multiple sources, including the original NEC PC-88 files supplied by Koshiro himself, and packaged in original artwork sourced from the SEGA archives in Japan.
