Moins charismatique qu’un chauve à cravate rouge, moins viril qu’un membre de Fox Hound ou moins souple qu’un agent d’Echelon 3, Styx n’en demeure pas moins une alternative séduisante pour les amateurs d’infiltration. Porté par un level design astucieux et un gameplay favorisant grandement l’expérimentation, le dernier né de chez Cyanide mérite le coup d’oeil. Il donne parfois l’impression de s’essayer à un Thief sans arc (on retrouve par exemple le principe des torches et des tapis) mais jouant beaucoup plus sur la verticalité. Bien sûr, il est un peu daté techniquement et certains aspects accusent un manque de finitions parfois crispant (ces sauts !), mais il ne faut pas non plus oublier le prix de lancement bien en dessous des grosses stars AAA de la catégorie, qui n’ont d’ailleurs pas toujours la qualité irréprochable que leur statut suggère. Un peu perdu dans le calendrier de fin d’année, Styx est la bonne petite surprise tapie dans l’ombre, qui n’attend plus que votre passage à portée pour vous embarquer dans les ténèbres.
