Developed by Carbine Studios and published by NCSOFT, Wildstar is a scifi / fantasy MMORPG taking place on the fictional world of Nexus and on the ships in the vicinity of this planet. A mysterious and once-mighty race known as the Eldan has vanished from their homes on Nexus. Technology and secrets have been left behind, all available to players for exploration.
Players are allowed to choose a race from one of two sides: Dominion or Exile.
The Dominion is an interstellar empire, ruling the galaxy with an iron fist in the form of a powerful military. Their religious zeal, advanced weaponry, and techological might give them a sense of superiority. They will stop at nothing to claim Nexus for their honor and their greed.
Refugees, mercenaries, and outcasts have banded together and are collectively referred to as Exiles. They fled the power of the Dominion and found Nexus, where they have established themselves to begin a new life. With the arrival of the Dominion, the Exiles fight for Nexus and so also fight for their very futures.
Movement includes the standard W, A, S, and D controls, with Space for jumping and Left Shift from sprinting. Double jumping is also available, and a character can sprint so long as the stamina bar doesn't deplete. Rather than targeting in traditional methods (clicking on an enemy to be hit), attacks come with an "area effected" display. With this, you can not only see if an enemy is within range, but you can also line up to include or avoid multiple enemies before beginning.
The game allows for sky pots to be purchased as well, as a form of housing. The exterior has plugs for different things (a crafting bench, for instance), while the interior allows creativity without bounds (OK, not without *any* bounds). An owner must grant permission for housing to be accessed by anyone else.
