Knowing where to place story elements is key to avoiding a forced or boring narrative, so the writers decided to insert “memory fragments” for players to discover throughout the game. This seamlessly integrates the narrative into the gameplay without disrupting the player's experience. In Shortt (hehe), a good game narrative ties together all the essential elements - gameplay, world, characters, and challenges in an engaging and layered story that feels instinctual and motivates the players to follow the game mode.
