Tapper タッパー (Machine type: ColecoVision)
The ColecoVision version of Tapper, known as Root Beer Tapper, was released in 1984. This home console adaptation was developed and published by Coleco, based on the arcade game originally developed by Bally Midway. In response to concerns about promoting alcohol to minors, the game’s theme was changed from serving beer to serving root beer, replacing Budweiser branding with a more family-friendly soda motif.
The ColecoVision port maintained the core mechanics of the arcade original but featured some differences due to hardware limitations. Notably, the Punk Rockers stage and certain animations, such as dancing girls during tip collection, were omitted.
