Tetris is a classic puzzle video game that was originally designed and programmed by Alexey Pajitnov in 1984. It involves manipulating falling tetromino pieces (shapes made up of four square blocks) to create horizontal lines without any gaps. When a line is completed, it disappears, and the player earns points. The game gets progressively faster as more lines are cleared. The objective is to score as many points as possible before the stack of tetrominos reaches the top of the playfield, at which point the game ends.
