10The Nerd Soapbox gang recently met actor Hank Garrett at the 2016 Long Beach Comic Con. Hank may have been at the convention for a GI Joe cartoon voice actor reunion however, I knew him from another role. Did you ever see that 1970's thriller / conspiracy movie Three Days of the Condor with Robert Redford and Faye Dunaway? Hank played the hit man dressed as a postman who tries to kill Redford in an iconic fight scene. Garrett ended up winning the New York Film Critics’ Award for that role. Three Days of the Condor is one of my favorite movie thrillers of all time and made me want to be a spy.
Hank has an amazing story. He is in The Karate Hall of Fame, The Wrestling Hall of Fame, a member of the Rat Pack saved his life, he worked the Borscht Belt, and at one time he was a New York Police Officer until he turned actor and played a New York Police officer along side Al Lewis and Fred Gwynne.
