Our main protagonist Hannay must escape from London and evade the police until he gets on a train without being noticed and disguised. He travels through England by train till he gets to Scotland. Hannay stays the night in some cottages in the hillside environment but after that, he continues to travel on foot for the time being until he stays at an Inn on the hillsides of Scotland.
