once a sprawling orchid sanctuary on Japan’s Izu Peninsula. Opened in 1968 as the Dogashima Orchid Center, this botanical gem boasted 13 ha of greenhouses, nine exhibition halls, over 10,000 orchid pots, and some 8,400 diverse orchid species—complete with a suspension “Love Call” bridge and stunning views of Suruga Bay .
