The Anti Quidditch Slingshot Flak (Broom Ack Ack)
6,597After seeing a re-run of a Harry Potter movie, we here at The Slingshot Channel feel we have to continue the work in the line of witch hunting.
Watching these despisable witches and wizards playing an abomination of noble human sports makes us angry. Something has to be done about that :)
True to the old saying "fighting fire with fire", we made a launcher that shoots brooms. That's right, the same harmless cleansweepers the witches abuse to fly and meet the devil at the Brocken is now a viable projectile to clean our beautiful skies. I will give them a taste of their own medicine...
The weapon is 3 meters (10ft) long, and fires 1,2 kg (2.6 lb) rice straw brooms. Three double band sets per side accelerate the brooms to a speed that is high enough even for the most high flying witch, easily 70 meters up into the sky. The broom head works like fletching, stabilizing the flight very nicely.
The video shows a hit into a thcik archery mat, recorded at 1000 fps... the broom went all the way through, although it is totally blunt. It even lifted the whole target up and rocked the table underneath.
