The authority of scripture and the Reformation principle of "Sola Scriptura" (scripture alone) are two foundational principles of Christianity (well, Protestant Christianity anyway). Unfortunately, many within the Christian church don't seem to really hold to this as scripture demands. One of the biggest issues facing Christendom today is the wholesale abandonment of both the authority of scripture and the "Sola Scriptura". I had an interesting discussion with an individual here on YouTube back in December of last year through early January which summarizes this issue pretty well. The discussion was originally about Reformed soteriology (a.k.a. Calvinism), but then the conversation took a hard turn into a different issue. I hope this video does a good job of explaining the basics of the issue and why it's inconsistent to claim to follow Christ, but then utterly reject the very scriptures He upheld as authoritative.

Incidentally, there is a major argument on this issue where the apostle Paul actually agrees with the atheists and skeptics. I cover that throughout the video as well.

One other thing: there is another video related to this subject that I just happened to see the other day which just so happens to be another great example of how this works in the real world. After watching this video, I would highly recommend checking out the discussion among Pastor Jeff Durbin of @ApologiaStudios Dr. James White of @AominOrg and Brandon Robertson of TikTok fame (https://youtu.be/ti0FzdOHW_8).

Background music comes from Karl Casey@WhiteBatAudio once again (such a great channel). The title of the track is "Astronomy". Check it out here: https://youtu.be/nPdc4r32zX8
