In 1797 the Spanish fleet sailed out of the Mediterranian in an attempt to evade the Royal navy and join the French fleet at Brest (sounds familiar, right? Yeah, they both tried that in 1805 again ... and failed at Trafalgar). Having been pushed west by a strong wind, they try to enter the harbor of Cadiz to restock supplies before sailing north. However, the British are aware that they are there, because one commodore Horatio Nelson managed to sail through their fleet. The battle of Cape Saint Vincent is the inspiration for this age of sail naval Kriegsspiel at the IKS.
