The first game in the classic SoR series, which is arguably the best beat em' up franchise of all time. With a combination of fantastic music and solid, fun gameplay, SoR 1 is a must play. It's not as good as the sequel, but it still stands up to almost all other beat em' ups in terms of quality. And that music...ohhhh that music. It's futuristic, urban, techno-funk and it's like being in a dangerous, not too distant metropolitan future. The music in the Streets of Rage series in general is some of the best videogame OST you will ever enjoy. Right up there with some of the best retro RPG OSTs like Final Fantasy 6, Final Fantasy 7, Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 8, Legend of Dragoon, Final Fantasy 9, Legend of Legaia, and Grandia. To NOT be an RPG and have such a quality soundtrack is a feat in its own right.
