The Closest Star to the Solar System: Proxima Centauri with Parallax Nick
Proxima Centauri is a small, low-mass star located 4.2465 light-years away from the Sun in the southern constellation of Centaurus. Last month there was the announcement of BLC1, a possible SETI candidate signal spatially coming from Proxima Centauri. But what is the Proxima Centauri system like? Could life exist on Proxima B? Would intelligent life be able to withstand the solar flares from Proxima?
