In ep 5, we see what happens if we head west instead of heading down to the portal, exploring the Collapsed Mine, a more dangerous, shambolic extension of the main mine biome.
We also get a glimpse of the Fungal Caves, a biome that appears in the coal mine (as well as later in the game).
