This cover has been in the works for a long time. I think it's one of the best pieces on the soundtrack, so I really wanted to nail the arrangement. My first draft didn't sound great, so I scrapped it and started over until I figured out how to include both the 3+3+2 rhythm and the staccato sixteenths. I also incorporated elements and the ending from the "Special Arrangement" (a.k.a. "Bonus Arrange Version") on the OST.
I never finished this game the first time around, but I recently picked it up and restarted it. It's a modern Wizardry throwback DRPG with its own dark style, complete with an optional retro setting that changes the dungeon graphics to wireframes and the music to chiptunes.
I recently learned that Success developed a number of official Wizardry titles for Japanese mobile phones back in the mid-2000s. That was before the days of smartphones though, so I imagine the games are lost to time, but I'm very glad they developed this original game for the DS.
