The Game Design of Super Metroid & Zero Mission
Eitan finally played the Metroid games. And he hates them. Probably, I haven’t watched it-

Hi! I’m back!
Yeah, it’s been a while and the reasons for my absence vary, but I’m now back and I have some ideas for more videos so the wait for the next one might not take as long.
This was the first time I recorded gameplay, which was a new experience definitely. I’ve had this video in the mind for a while, but I told myself that I’ll only make it after replaying Super Metroid.
I really wanted to understand the sentiment of people who like this style of Metroid. I didn’t resonate with it at first, but after a while I grew somewhat of an understanding of why fans like Super Metroid so much. I still favor a more linear style because it provides further opportunity to explore cool ideas, especially in a much more planned environment- but the way Super does it makes the game far more enjoyable repeatedly. So, to each their own I assume.
