The Geek Recipe | S2 EP.4 - Between past, present and future with Charles Cecil
Our new year starts with episode four of Season 2, which sees veteran video game designer and Revolution Software co-founder Charles Cecil share his insight into crafting some of the most beloved point-and-click adventure games of all time.
Cecil discusses the inspirations behind the studio’s next major project, Broken Sword - Parzival's Stone, the use of AI which is being employed in the upcoming remaster of the first Broken Sword, and his thoughts on whether the point-and-click genre is still relevant in 2024.
While cooking gnocchi alla sorrentina, Charles Cecil spills the beans on some of the exciting new projects Revolution has in the pipeline.
“What our AI is doing is that it’s a tool that our artists are able to use for the artwork they have created for the game, and it takes the very low-resolution sprites and it then upscales.”
Do you agree with Cecil?
