The Inpatient is an interactive survival horror game. The year is 1952 and the location is the Blackwood Pines Sanatorium. You wake up restrained in a chair and after a brief interrogation you are wheeled through the sanatorium by an orderly and led to a room which you share with one other person. You are plagued by flashbacks and brief recollections of memory.

The story unfolds and you discover that there are some unsettled residents there and this relates to an accident in a local mine where lots of miners were killed and the injured were taken to the sanatorium to be treated. However, something happened to those men and they have been transformed into vicious creatures known as Wendigos. You hear from you cell the members of staff and patients slowly succumbing to the attacks.
Making your way through the complex you are faced with choices to make which will ultimately decide your ending.

A very immersive game and the flavour of the 1950’S is very much evident.
